Waterbeach, Treyarnon

This project comprised two high quality residential 6 and 4 bedroom units for sale. The site was subject to early demolition works. The construction of the buildings was of traditional masonry construction and included substantial earthworks and the introduction of several retaining walls to part of the site perimeter and within the site……

Branca, Walton Street, Oxford

Cassian were employed by St John’s to manage the conversion and extension of two existing terraced units, and combine it with the existing Branca restaurant to form and enhanced restaurant space, new delicatessen and courtyard, with future hotel space at first and second floor. The buildings in the fashionable Jericho area of Oxford, posed huge challenges in design and construction. The project was also phased to facilitate the existing delicatessen remaining in operation throughout the works…….

Sea Spell

This project comprised six high quality residential 2, 3 and 4 bedroom units for sale; four townhouses, one duplex apartment and one apartment, arranged in one three storey block. The site was subject to an enabling demolition contract. The construction of the building was of traditional masonry construction and included substantial reduction in site level and introduction of a gabion retaining wall to part of the site perimeter……..

25 George Street, Oxford

Cassian were employed by Nuffield to convert the 5,500 ft2 basement and ground floor space of the 100 year old building into an open retail shell area to be fitted out by the incoming pub restaurant tenant, Pint Shop. The previous use of the space was split between a ground floor retail unit and a basement restaurant. A new staircase to connect the spaces was introduced into the premises, structural modifications were undertaken including heavy temporary support works and re-proofing the fire integrity of the unit….

This project comprises 28 apartments arranged in two blocks, 16 for sale, 12 affordable units for rent for Coastline Housing Association. The site was subject to an enabling demolition contract. The affordable block is a three storey timber frame construction, the apartments for sale are arranged over five storeys of traditional masonry construction……..

Cassian were employed by Nuffield to convert the 2,300 ft2 ground floor space of the 100 year old building into an open retail shell area to be fitted out by the incoming restaurant tenant, Banana Tree. The previous use of the space was split between and workshop and a retail unit. A new and separate access to the basement college archive needed to be formed as well as decommissioning and removing the former goods lift, sealing off the shaft to create further space…….

KFC Drive Thru

Design and Construction of the developer’ shell of a model 260 KFC Drive Thru restaurant on Thomsen Retail Park, Wessington Way, Sunderland. The existing retail park, already providing a McDonalds restaurant and Wickes Retail store, was enhanced by the addition of this project which was built on land previously used for car parking……..

Magdalen College School, Wainfleet All Saints

Cassian were employed to prepare a schedule of dilapidations, negotiate with the outgoing tenant and monitor the repair works undertaken by the tenant as part of their lease exit. The building was built in 1484 by William of Wainfleet as Magdalen College School, tutoring local children prior to furthering their studies at the University of Oxford. It ceased to be a school in the 1960’s, from whence it became a library and museum. It is a Scheduled Ancient Monument and all repair works were undertaken with guidance and approval from English Heritage…..

30 St Giles, Oxford

Cassian were initially employed to prepare a schedule of condition in advance of a lease renewal, this scope was extended to undertake essential repair works to the envelope of the building in advance of entry into a new lease. The building is a Grade II listed building and was built in the early seventeenth century………

Station Parade and Broom Hall

Cassian were employed on Broom Hall to prepare a schedule of essential works, a contractor was procured and the works were undertaken in between tenancies, Cassian monitoring these works through to completion in September 2014……..

Cassian were originally employed to prepare a planned maintenance schedule in 2011. The first year’s work was organised into a contract to undertake essential repairs to the roof and facade, replacement of windows, internal refurbishment of one vacant flat and electrical testing…….

Orbit Leamington

The scheme provides independent living accommodation of 178 one and two bedroom units including a wide range of communal facilities; restaurant, cafe, lounge, hairdressing salon and IT suite. The three and four storey development, arranged in three courtyards, was constructed of traditional masonry construction, achieved Code for Sustainable Homes Level 4 and a BREEAM rating of Very Good. This was facilitated by the use of a CHP plant, PV panels and energy saving fittings……….

Guy Nelson Hall

The scheme provides a 1000 plus assembly hall and performance auditorium within the Warwick School campus.  The project included demolition of the existing assembly hall, retaining parts of the structure to be incorporated into the new building……

North Street Quadrant

The project comprised the retention of a grade 2 listed public house and the demolition of the remaining properties on the site situated in the city centre of Brighton, East Sussex, U.K. The site was bounded on all sides by roads and footpaths making access and material deliveries extremely difficult, necessitating a luffing jib tower crane and definitive delivery schedules………
